Process Management International Ltd Acquires Capella Associates Ltd, Consolidating Their Position as the Leading Performance Improvement Specialist

The Performance Improvement consultancy and training firm, Process Management International Ltd (PMI), announces the acquisition of Capella Associates Ltd, the Improvement Apprenticeship delivery specialist, from its founder, Kate Smith. The transaction was completed today, 30th November 2023, and consolidates PMI’s position as the leading Performance Improvement specialist. Kate Smith joins the board of PMI on a permanent basis and becomes a Managing Partner maintaining responsibility for Apprenticeships.

There is no change to your current apprenticeship provider and programme; your tutors, coaches and points of contact all remain the same. You will, though, be offered a whole array of new and enhanced supplementary learning material in the coming months, and your employer will now be able to access PMI’s commercial training services, resources, and expert consulting services.

The Capella name remains in place and the brand has been given a fresh new look which still incorporates the Capella Star!

Capella remains your apprenticeship provider and a distinct company.

There is no change to your current contracts. Capella remains a separate legal entity, although now part of PMI, and this transaction has been approved by the ESFA.

No, there will be no change to the team you work with.

Capella is now part of PMI. Kate Smith, previously Managing Director of Capella, has become a Managing Partner with PMI and is still responsible for apprenticeships and Capella. There are no other changes.

Not immediately; any changes in the future will be communicated with plenty of notice.

There are no immediate plans to change our systems or portals; you can keep using them as normal.

We have identified our joint clients and will be working with you to unify our account management, so you have a single point of contact for ease and simplicity.

Access to a wider range of resources, including podcasts and on-demand content, which will provide opportunities for additional study to close gaps and/or stretch learners, as well as enhance our blended delivery to meet modern learning needs.

The increase in funds and capacity to invest in the continuous development of programme resources (including the latest thinking/technologies such as AI) will help ensure learners and employers are provided with leading-edge content.

The increase in trainer capacity will provide improved continuity options and opportunities for involving specialists as part of programme development and delivery.

The increase in volume from the combined client base will increase the possibility of viable cohorts that have content tailored for a single sector/employer, resulting in an enhanced learning journey.
