Watch on YouTubeWhen work is constantly being reshaped by interruptions, shifting priorities and recurring problems, improvement can’t sit neatly outside the day job.
In this case study from the Goals to Results Conference, Danielle Docherty, a Project Manager at Taylor Wimpey, and Damion Albinson, Senior Consultant at PMI, talk candidly about what it takes to run live construction sites, and why improvement has to function within that reality, not outside of it.
They describe the everyday pressures site teams face: tight programmes, safety demands, weather disruption, changing regulations, subcontractor coordination and the sheer volume of decisions being made, often with incomplete information.
From there, the session explores how structured management practices such as daily huddles, planning routines and problem solving are being supported with AI tools. These include using AI to speed up access to internal guidance, capture and summarise daily issues, support planning decisions, and guide teams through problem solving when the same issues keep recurring.
The focus throughout is practical. You’ll hear what’s been trialled, what’s helped, and where challenges remain, particularly around confidence, behaviour change and digital adoption in operational environments.
For anyone thinking seriously about operational improvement, safety, or the practical use of AI in complex, high‑pressure settings, this offers a grounded view of what change looks like at the frontline.
